Conductors

In electrical engineering, the term "conductor" is used to described the electrical wiring (aka "feeder") that is used to supply power to electrical devices.
- This section will give information about copper and aluminum as conductors.
- All electrical conductors are required to have insulation for protection.
- There are different colors for determining the designated voltage flowing through a conductor.
- This chart will assist in sizing conductors and conduit in electrical systems.
- All electrical wiring is measured and sized in terms of circular mils. This chart will show the circular mils for each recognized wire size.
- Electrical wire and cable that has insulation is classified by its use and location.
- Use these conductor resistance factors from NEC 2011, Table 8, Chapter 9 when calculating voltage drop.
